Surprise Four Tet LP x Thom Yorke Mix

Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, released one of Astral Cat's favorite albums of 2012, and isn't wasting any time in the new year. Early yesterday morning (early for us in the Eastern time zone, anyway), Hebden posted a surprise LP called 0181 as a single mix to his Soundcloud account, with the only prior warning being a handful of Twitter comments a few minutes beforehand.

According to the notes, the music was produced between 1997 and 2001, and the tracks indeed exhibit the rawness and jazzy tinges of his earlier work, but they are undeniably Four Tet. 0181 will be available on vinyl "soon," but until then it can be downloaded for free via Soundcloud.



Today, Thom Yorke of Radiohead dropped a mix of unreleased solo material and remixes for Dazed Digital.   Mostly ethereal, trippy, and somewhat Burial-esque at times, some of the highlights include the opening (from 0:00 to about the 4:00 mark) and tail (from 22:30 on) segments. No downloading or embedding allowed, apparently, but you listen to it either in the article linked above, or on Dazed Digital's Soundcloud page.
