Here are Brian's answers to some questions about Fragile Science that nobody actually asked:

Q: Which song gave you the greatest feeling of accomplishment upon completion?

BB: That would be Night Driver. Putting together the drums on that one was a bit of a painstaking process that, overall, took several months of developing ideas, deciding said ideas weren't working, and starting over from scratch. It was worth it to get the type of sound and feel I was looking for. There are no loops or repeats whatsoever in the drums. The rhythms are constantly changing throughout the song.

Q: What are some unusual sounds on the EP?

BB: I have a collection of circuit-bent toys that can create some really interesting sounds, especially when you add further processing and effects to them. There are some percussion sounds that were created with somewhat out-of-the-ordinary methods, such as tapping on a desk and breathing. There's also some Bodhrán in there, which is a traditional Irish drum.

Q: Which song was the quickest to complete, from start to finish?

BB: Sunrise on Acid didn't exist until about two weeks before I submitted everything to the distributor, which is the point of no return, just to give an idea how late in the game it came about. That one just kind of played itself, and was done in maybe two days. I liked it because it's pretty minimal in terms of how the sounds are layered, which is kinda different for me, so I decided at the last minute to put it on the EP to replace another song which was already set to go.

Q: What's a miscellaneous fact about the EP?

BB: Musically, I wouldn't say there's a theme to it, but the titles for 4 out of the 5 songs were inspired by the surreal album artwork, done by talented photographic artist Kaspars Braža.
